GOUV representatives attended an official Christmas cultural screening hosted at the Embassy of Russia in Romania, featuring a performance of The Nutcracker by the Vaganova Academy. The event formed part of the closing program for the 185th anniversary commemorations dedicated to the composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The screening gathered members of the diplomatic corps, cultural institutions, academic participants, and representatives of international communities based in Romania. The program was structured as a formal cultural occasion, combining artistic presentation with institutional hospitality and cross-community engagement.
The featured production highlighted the classical ballet tradition associated with the Vaganova school and Tchaikovsky’s musical legacy. The selection of The Nutcracker aligned with the seasonal context while also serving as a tribute to one of the most recognized works in the classical repertoire.
Throughout the evening, guests engaged in cultural dialogue and informal institutional exchange, reinforcing the role of artistic events as neutral platforms for international presence and relationship-building. Cultural diplomacy initiatives of this type provide opportunities for interaction between organizations, embassies, and civil society actors through shared artistic heritage.
GOUV’s participation reflects its continued engagement in international cultural settings and its support for initiatives that connect institutions and communities through arts, education, and heritage programming.
