Security Notice — Temporary Suspension of GOUV Activities in Brazil

The Global Organization for Cooperation and Development (GOUV) informs that the activities of the GOUV Commission in the Federative Republic of Brazil will remain temporarily suspended until 6 October 2026, due to the electoral activities taking place in the country.

As a precautionary measure, the GOUV Mission in Brazil will remain closed in Brasília, Rio de Janeiro and João Pessoa during this period.

GOUV has also issued a security advisory due to the possibility of demonstrations, public disturbances and potential violent incidents involving external groups in connection with the electoral period.

Individuals are advised to exercise increased caution and, whenever possible, avoid:

• Embassies and consulates;
• Political and government institutions;
• Demonstrations, political gatherings and areas with large concentrations of people;
• Border areas with neighbouring countries.

GOUV recommends monitoring local conditions, following instructions issued by competent authorities and avoiding unnecessary exposure to areas where demonstrations or security incidents may occur.

GOUV will continue to maintain its emergency communication channels during the temporary suspension of in-person activities.
