New Connections and Gastronomy Innovation Mark GOUV Meeting in São Paulo

On Friday, January 9th, 2026, the Honorary Representation of GOUV in São Paulo held a working meeting with the Representative of the General Presidency of GOUV in the city to review economic themes and innovation opportunities linked to gastronomy and value-added food sectors.

The meeting combined institutional dialogue with field observation, taking place during a guided walk through major avenues of São Paulo. The format enabled practical discussion in a live commercial environment, supporting direct analysis of market behavior, consumer trends, and positioning strategies within the urban gastronomy ecosystem.

Key discussion points included business opportunities related to coffee production and commercialization, export potential for Brazilian traditional foods, and growth pathways for small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the Southeast region of Brazil. Participants examined how specialty products and regional culinary assets can be structured for international market entry through branding, certification, and partnership models.

The exchange also addressed innovation in gastronomy as an economic driver. Topics included product differentiation, sustainable sourcing, and the integration of technology and logistics into food-sector ventures. The role of gastronomy in place branding and regional development strategies was also considered.

Although organized as a coordination meeting, the session emphasized open exchange and practical perspective-sharing rather than formal protocol. The approach supported exploratory dialogue on project concepts and cooperation formats connected to food innovation and trade.

The meeting reinforced a working premise within GOUV’s cooperation framework: gastronomy can function not only as a cultural asset, but also as a platform for entrepreneurship, regional growth, and access to new international markets through structured partnerships and innovation-oriented business models.
