On the morning of this Friday, July 5, 2024, the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Bucharest met to celebrate Venezuela’s Independence Day. The event, which was held in Simón Bolivar Square, featured a speech given by the Ambassador of Venezuela to Romania, H.E. José de Jesus Sojo, who conveyed the words of President Nicolas Maduro, “in defense of our independence, we celebrate, standing up victorious and proud of our rout” and also celebrated and congratulated the Venezuelan people for their courage and determination.

Ambassadors from several countries, mainly from the Latin American community, participated in the event, such as the Ambassador of Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and other countries such as Russia, Iran and others. On behalf of GOUV, the General President of GOUV, Mr. Marcos Bãdãrãu and the High Representative of GOUV for the Middle East and the Arab League, Mrs. Cerasela Nitu, participated.
At the end of the event, a meeting took place in the Embassy Chancellery for refreshments with typical Venezuelan foods prepared for the guests. It was also a space for exchanging ideas and conversation to commemorate such an important day for Venezuela and the Venezuelan people. GOUV once again wishes to congratulate the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on its 213 years of independence.
